Scoot Commute

People, turn your lights on! It’s raining!

At one point not one of the 5 cars in a row passing me in the opposite lane had their lights on. The DPW truck behind me: no lights. The car behind him as he made a right on Cranston Street: no lights. And it was not soft drizzle as I rode in this morning; it was full-on raining, rain that required drivers to have their windshield wipers on, not just on intermittent.

Turn ’em on! It’s hard enough to judge distance and speed when making a turn on a nice day. Add to that rain on the shield, dark grey skies, wet leaves, oil-soaked new tar, slippery manhole covers and freshly painted road striping, it’s a wonder I made it to campus today.
