Scoot Commute

Avoid that orange and white barrel

Posted in Buddy St. Tropez (Franz Biberkopf), Daily Commute by sbahn on 2010/10/25

In typical morning commute mode, a car is coming up to a stop sign opposite me. There is a large orange and white striped barrel, you know, the kind that are on road construction sites that is all reflective at night. The car pulls up to the barrel and stops. There’s a car in front of me making a left at the stop sign and I need to make a right.

I watch the car pulled up to the barrel. They cannot go straight because the barrel is in the way. The car making a left is confused because the car is just sitting there. Finally it occurs to the driver that they will have to go around the barrel. Seriously? Were you paying any attention to driving?

Otherwise, it was an uneventful ride. Foggy so I’m glad I was wearing hi-viz. It really pops in foggy, low-light conditions. That and the fashion aspect.
