Scoot Commute

Escorted by the Passport Posse

I had to go down to East Greenwich tonight to meet with my mortgage guy (who I love, by the way…can you say that about your mortgage guy?) He’s all hot to trot for a scooter now, so I’ll have to keep an eye out.

After receiving instruction on how not to miss the turn to keep me on Route 1 by landmark (look for the Bank of America), I took off into the cool evening air. It was a great ride, but I was a little chilled so I decided to pull into the credit union parking lot to put on my fleece jacket (and make a deposit from our non-buying at Rice-o-Rama).

Continuing toward Providence on Post Road, I notice a single headlight behind me. At the light I turn to look and it’s a guy on a Passport. Passport Posse! I give him a nod and thumb’s up and he reciprocates the nod. We ride together for a few lights and then make the left turn at the gas station to keep on Route 1. We ride through Cranston and I lose him at the light at Roger Williams Zoo (I went on yellow…I’m from Jersey, that’s what we do). I couldn’t quite make out the bike (old Cub or 80’s Cub as it was painted silver), but it did have a genuine Honda seat and the leg shield so it was definitely a Cub and not a Trail. It was nice hearing the buzz behind me. Yah Dominican scooters!
